100 Bowls of Compassion Celebrates Nordic Nights - Mark your calendars - May 2, 2013 - 6pm to 9:30pm

Our signature fundraising event, 100 Bowls of Compassion, brings together more than 700 of Miriam’s Kitchen supporters at The National Building Museum. If food is your passion and you would like to help end chronic homelessness in DC, this event is for you.

At Miriam’s Kitchen, providing healthy, exceptionally prepared food to our guests is the first step in building a relationship. Once we have the trust of our chronically homeless guests, they are more likely to accept our help and take the steps to transition from a life on the streets and into housing.

We invite you to experience the care we take in preparing food, as well as the flavors of Nordic cuisine with a menu featuring more than 15 items and a specialty cocktail.

Historically, 90% of every dollar raised through the 100 Bowls of Compassion Gala goes directly to Miriam’s Kitchen’s programs. We’ve been able to accomplish this goal through the resourcefulness of our volunteers, who solicit in-kind donations and who undertake the majority of event planning and execution.
