Can Arm Wrestling End Chronic Homelessness?

At Miriam’s Kitchen, we are proud and grateful for the talented and committed volunteer community that makes our work possible.  We know that a strong volunteer community makes Miriam's Kitchen a better, smarter, more efficient and welcoming place for our guests.  We also think you are a lot of fun!  And we hope you'll consider joining us at some of our upcoming fall events for some more fun.

Arm Wrestling Fundraiser - Friday, October 19th, 8pm at PennSocial
Curious how arm wrestling can solve homelessness?  Join Miriam’s and the DC Lady Arm Wrestlers for a whacky night at PennSocial where Miriam’s will even participate in the arm wrestling fun. Can you guess which MK staff member will be known as SPORKticus? There will be drink specials and a chance to bid on your favorite arm wrestler! Tickets are $10 and on sale now.

4th Annual Chili Cook-Off Fundraiser - Saturday, November 17th, 7pm
We know we have a lot of cooks in the kitchen, so we want you to bring your best chili recipe and we'll decide who gets the chili bragging rights of the year. Cocktails, snacks, and tasty desserts will be provided, in addition to all the chili you care to taste – get your tickets here! For the past 3 years, this event sold out so make sure to get your ticket soon.

Help Miriam’s Win a Fundraiser By Voting Today!
RaiseDC is a new organization that supports local charities. If we get the most votes in this poll, RaiseDC will plan and host a fundraiser for us where they hope to raise more than $4,000 for our guests. Please vote for Miriam’s Kitchen here and encourage your friends to do the same. The poll will remain open until October 16th at 6p.m.

On the Campaign Trail Art Exhibit at Corcoran School of Art + Design
Stop by the Corcoran to see beautiful artwork from our Miriam's Kitchen's artists. Between October 17 – November 4, the exhibit will feature campaign photography from The Washington Post, design work Corcoran College of Art + Design students, and election-inspired paintings by our guests at Miriam’s Kitchen.

We hope to see you!
