Prior to becoming a social worker, Sara Taylor worked in education and taught writing, special education, and holistic wellness. In 2018, she completed her graduate degree at The Catholic University of America in Clinical Social Work, where she studied mental health care, homelessness, art therapy, and grief support.

While earning her degree, Sara was an intern in a community LGBTQ mental health clinic and at Miriam’s Kitchen PSH, where she was very glad to return as staff!  Sara is now a licensed clinical social worker, and her clinical interests include insight-oriented therapy, trauma and loss, expressive arts and existential therapy, postcolonial and anti-oppression mental health models, and holistic therapies with traditionally marginalized and underserved populations. When not at work, Sara reads a lot of fantasy and science fiction, paints, and makes herbal teas.
