Your MK Donation Goes Further This Holiday Season!

December 8, 2021

When was the last time someone said “yes” to you? How did it make a difference in your life? There is a power to being able to say “yes.” There is magic to it. It opens doors.

You can provide the magic of “yes” to one of your neighbors experiencing homelessness. Because in a system that has enabled individuals to experience homelessness in the first place, they have heard the word “no” too many times.

Caring supporters like you helped us say yes to our guests and better serve them with the values of dignity, belonging, and change. Saying yes meant:

  • We could help a guest purchase work boots so he could keep his construction job
  • We could schedule a Lyft for an elderly client with a heart condition so they could make critical medical appointments
  • We were able to purchase gender-affirming hygiene products that a transgender guest requested, and the client was extremely grateful.
  • We could purchase basic cell phones and plans for guests so they could connect with family and access telehealth and essential appointments that increasingly moved online due to the pandemic

Each time we can say yes for small requests – whether that is for socks, shoes, stamps, or tokens – we are able to build a relationship of trust. Guests start to believe that we can help them. With that foundation, we can work on larger goals around improving health, accessing benefits that would provide much-needed income, and obtaining housing.

If you’ve ever had someone say “yes” to you, now is your chance to pay that kindness forward. Thanks to a matching grant by The J. Willard and Alice S. Marriott Foundation, your gift will be doubled to have twice the impact (up to $150,000).

Don’t miss this opportunity to make every dollar of your donation go further. Please give as generously as you can by December 31, 2021.

What is the best thing that can happen if you say yes? By giving today, you will have TWICE THE POWER to:

  • Serve delicious, made-from-scratch meals that often make room for meaningful conversations
  • Provide critical supplies like hand sanitizers, masks, hygiene items, and more
  • Offer timely one-on-one support to help guests improve their health, increase their income and obtain housing
  • Create a more just and equitable community where every person has a safe place to call home

With the ongoing pandemic and the harsh winter season at our door, your continued support is critical. This is your opportunity to do TWICE AS MUCH GOOD for a neighbor in need. Every dollar you give will double in impact. Please give now.
