Dr. Nancy Freeborne-Brinton is a dedicated health professional and advocate with a career spanning clinical medicine, public health, education, and community advocacy. Her journey began with a BA in Biology from Lafayette College, inspired by her love for her grandparents and a drive to improve the lives of the elderly. Her clinical work focused on empowering patients to take an active role in their health, emphasizing partnership and understanding.
Seeking to make a broader impact, Dr. Freeborne-Brinton earned advanced degrees in public health, where she applied her expertise to advance initiatives such as tobacco cessation, seatbelt laws, and vaccination programs. Her passion for education led her to George Mason University, where she helped grow the Community Health program and mentored students, especially first-generation college attendees, to pursue careers in health care.
Her advocacy for vulnerable populations includes serving as Director of ISCOPES at George Washington University, where she launched a monthly foot clinic for the homeless and oversaw large-scale community outreach programs. As Director of Operations at a Federally-Qualified Health Center, she aligned strategic goals with operations, authored successful grants, and improved policies to enhance services for underserved communities.
