Rebecca has advanced social entrepreneurship, conscious supply chains, housing justice, and labor rights through law and advocacy for over a decade. At Rooted Communities she develops mixed-use, mixed-income properties that strengthen urban communities and deliver more equitable and sustainable environments. As a sustainable fashion company founder, adviser, labor and employment lawyer, policy leader, speaker, writer, convener, and advocate Rebecca has catalyzed systemic, transformative change enabling the fashion industry to honor people and the planet better.
Rebecca holds a Bachelor of Arts cum laude from Duke University, a JD from the University of North Carolina School of Law at Chapel Hill, and an Executive Certificate in Nonprofit Management from Georgetown University. She is a proud Washingtonian and advocate for ending homelessness, hyperlocal and car-free living, public transportation, strong public education, mixed-use development, circular and regenerative design, and local art and culture. Rebecca loves living in Dupont Circle with her husband John, two very adventuresome children Nathan (2017) and Lily (2019), and an incredible village.
