Join Us for Run 4 MK!
On Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 7:45am at Fletcher’s Cove is our fourth annual Run 4 MK. In partnership with Bishop’s Events, we’re coming together to run in support of ending chronic homelessness in Washington, DC 🏃🏽♀️🏃🏿!
By participating in person or virtually, you’ll support Miriam’s Kitchen’s essential programs and services. The run is scheduled near Veterans Day and at the start of National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week (November 16-22, 2025). These dates align closely with the heart of our work and the people we serve.
Run 4 MK honors the legacy of Waldon Adams, our late friend, former guest, and community leader. Waldon was an avid runner—who completed more than 80 races, including 15 marathons. He was also a passionate advocate who helped others find safe and stable housing. We will celebrate his life and impact, five years after his passing.
The race takes place at a meaningful location; within the area our Outreach Team regularly serves. It’s a chance to connect with the community, meet other passionate advocates, and take action for housing justice.
Whether you run, walk, or cheer from afar your participation in this race brings community together. All proceeds go to support Miriam's Kitchen in our mission to end chronic homelessness in DC.

Dear Friends and Family,
I’m inspired to run for Miriam’s Kitchen, and I need your support. Miriam’s Kitchen has been a trusted lifeline for individuals experiencing homelessness in DC since 1983. They serve our neighbors who have been without housing for years—people who have fallen through every crack in our city’s social safety net and are now surviving under bridges, in encampments, and in shelters.
And despite the rising hostility, harmful policies, and public rhetoric that continue to vilify and target people experiencing homelessness, Miriam’s Kitchen is proving what’s possible. Just this year, they helped house 243 people — the most in the organization’s history. That is 243 individuals who now have a bed, a door to lock, and a place to belong. It’s the strongest response to injustice there is: impact.
Their belief is simple and bold: ending chronic homelessness starts with a meal and ends with everyone having a home. It may sound ambitious, but their results show it’s achievable — not someday, but now, and with community behind it.
That’s why I’m running. And that’s why I need you with me.
I’ve set a fundraising goal of $X by November 15th, and every single dollar helps fuel housing, meals, dignity, and lasting change. If you’re able, please support my Run 4 MK page here: [insert your unique donation link].
Your generosity doesn’t just help — it moves us closer to a DC where everyone has a safe place to sleep, to heal, and to live.
Thank you for standing with me, and with Miriam’s Kitchen, in this urgent yet hopeful work.

I’m running for Miriam’s Kitchen, and I need your support.
Right now, in DC, our unhoused neighbors are being pushed out, vilified, and targeted. But instead of giving up, Miriam’s Kitchen is fighting back with impact — this year, they helped 243 people move into housing. That’s the most in their history.
Their mission is bold and simple: meals first, housing always; homelessness ended for good. And I believe in it — deeply. That’s why I’m running.
I’m trying to raise $X by Nov. 15 to support their work. Will you help me? Every dollar fuels meals, housing, and hope.

I’m fundraising for @MiriamsKitchen because DC’s unhoused neighbors deserve safety, dignity, and a place to call home.
This year alone, MK helped 243 people move into housing—their biggest impact yet. I’m running #Run4MK to support their mission, and I’m aiming to raise $X by Nov. 15. Join me?

I’m proud to share that I’m running and fundraising for Miriam’s Kitchen, an organization that has been ending chronic homelessness in DC since 1983.
In a moment when unhoused individuals in our city are being targeted, displaced, and pushed further into crisis, Miriam’s Kitchen has remained a constant source of dignity and change. This year, they helped 243 individuals move into permanent housing — the highest number in their history. That is measurable impact and real hope.
I’ve set a goal to raise $X by November 15 to help fuel this critical work — providing meals, housing support, and long-term solutions that end homelessness for good.
If you are in a position to give or help share, I’d be truly grateful. Together, we can create a more just and compassionate DC.
