Miriam’s Kitchen has been a trusted resource for individuals experiencing homelessness—providing over 1.2 million meals and helping over 1,240 individuals move into their first home in years since its founding in 1983.
Today Miriam’s Kitchen serves as a lifeline for guests to access essential services that improve their health, increase their income, and help them obtain a safe, permanent home. Additionally, as co-founders and co-leaders of The Way Home campaign, Miriam’s Kitchen plays a key role in the fight to end chronic and veteran homelessness in Washington, DC.
In the coming year, on top of its ongoing pandemic response efforts, Miriam’s Kitchen will expand its street outreach team, grow its housing program, and capitalize on this generational opportunity to get 2,400 housing vouchers quickly and equitably out the door.
Your support will go a long way in providing critical services from meals to housing to a neighbor in need and creating a safe, more just community where every person has a safe, permanent place to call home.
