Please Join Us

Over the past few months, Miriam’s Kitchen, Pathways to Housing DC, HUD, and the Department of Veterans Affairs have been partnering together to permanently house DC’s most vulnerable, chronically homeless veterans.

Ten Miriam's Kitchen guests will be housed through this partnership and just weeks ago, one of those guests moved into a home of his own. (Read more about our partnership and Daryl's story here.)

With more than 15% of our dining room comprised of veterans each day, we remain deeply committed to ending veteran homelessness in Washington, DC. That's why we're so excited to host the second in our Advocacy Action Series: Housing Homeless Veterans: Why Permanent Supportive Housing Matters.

Please join us next Wednesday, December 12th from 6:30 - 8 pm
in our dining room as we discuss the efforts under way in our region to end veteran homelessness.

The evening will feature a panel of regional experts discussing the national plan to end veteran homelessness by 2015, sharing perspectives from service providers working with homeless veterans, and offering examples of effective partnerships--like ours with Pathways to Housing DC. A recently-housed veteran (and Miriam's Kitchen guest) will also tell his story.

Please mark your calendar and plan on joining us for this inspiring and informative evening (light refreshments will also be served). You can RSVP directly to our advocacy team at

We hope to see you there!
