Cheryl Bell started at Miriam’s Kitchen as a volunteer and found that feeding people experiencing homelessness gave her the ability to combine her two passions, cooking and building quality homes (formerly a Global Village Build volunteer with Habitat for Humanity traveling to third-world countries from 2006-2015). After 30+ years in the private sector, Cheryl formally traded her suit for a chef’s coat in 2015 to devote herself to her passions full-time. Today, Cheryl leads Miriam’s Kitchen’s meals program, providing nearly 80,000 fresh, delicious meals a year. She also collaborates across departments to help tackle food insecurity needs for our guests who are experiencing homelessness. Recently, Cheryl completed the Nonprofit Management Executive Certificate program at Georgetown University, Cheryl continues to pursue her growth to advance the lives of anyone she encounters.
