Qaadir El-Amin

Qaadir El-Amin is a member of the People for Fairness Coalition who sits on the executive committee of the Interagency Council for the Homeless (ICH), and is the co-director of Ward 2 Mutual Aid. He’s a member of the MK Speakers Bureau, sits on The Way Home Campaign Steering Committee, and contributes to homeless street outreach work to try to connect individuals to housing. Qaadir also served as an Advocacy Fellow at Miriam’s Kitchen in 2019.
“What I want out of life, it ain’t a whole lot,” Qaadir says. “Just basic. Real simple.” He would like a wife. He wants good friends. He wants to be around good people. “Because the right people helped me, I just want to give that back,” he adds. “Housing is a human right. Everybody deserves to be housed. A lot of my messages are in my actions. God is my message.”
