Silvana Quiroz is a four-time Emmy® Award-winning journalist and the Director of Communications at Miriam’s Kitchen. With more than 20 years of experience in journalism, public affairs, and nonprofit communications, Silvana leads the organization’s messaging strategy, media relations, and storytelling efforts to support its mission to end chronic homelessness in Washington, DC.

Her career began at Univision and Telemundo, where she served as a reporter, anchor, and executive producer, building a strong foundation in media strategy and narrative development. After transitioning from newsrooms to the nonprofit sector, Silvana has led communications campaigns that elevate the voices of underrepresented communities—including individuals experiencing homelessness, survivors of domestic violence, youth in need of empowerment, and communities facing barriers to health access.

Her strategic campaigns, developed in collaboration with nonprofit partners and community organizations, have successfully raised public awareness, mobilized resources, and supported fundraising goals. She is widely respected within the media and advocacy landscape as a trusted voice, connector, and narrative strategist. Through her leadership, she continues to elevate powerful stories that inform the public, influence change, and move people to action.

Silvana brings a deep understanding of narrative strategy, crisis communications, and values-driven storytelling to all her work at Miriam’s Kitchen—helping connect the public with the people and solutions that can end chronic homelessness.
