Tony Burns

Tony Burns is a native Washingtonian whose advocacy work began in 2009. He is a founding member of Whitman Walker Health’s More Than Plus One Mentoring Program and is co-chair of the Community Advisory Board at George Washington University’s LGBTQ community. In addition to his role on the MK Guest Advisory Board, Mr. Burns is also a member of the Miriam’s Kitchen Speakers’ Bureau, and served as an MK Advocacy Fellow in 2019-2020.  Tony also received the Miriam’s Kitchen Mission Possible Belonging Award in 2019 for his commitment to ending chronic homelessness in DC and advocating for members of various communities. Tony currently sits on the Board of Trustees at the IF Foundation. At the beginning of his advocacy work, his focus was on HIV/AIDS and has since been expanded to housing and cancer care.
