Bridge Housing
Building Stability, Dignity, and Hope

Miriam’s Kitchen is expanding its mission to end chronic homelessness with the soft launch of our new Bridge Housing site, located on E Street SW.
This innovative program offers a housing-first, person-centered alternative to traditional shelters for DC residents experiencing long-term homelessness.

Bridge Housing is designed for individuals who are not well served by large, congregate, or low-barrier shelters.
At E Street Bridge Housing, guests will share rooms with just one other person and receive trauma-informed case management focused on helping them secure and maintain permanent housing.
This approach recognizes that stability begins with safety, respect, and connection — the foundation for rebuilding lives and creating lasting change.
E Street Bridge Housing will serve up to [insert number] residents at a time, providing a full spectrum of support services:
- Private, semi-shared rooms that promote safety and dignity
- Comprehensive case management focused on long-term housing goals
- Behavioral and physical health support through community partnerships
- Nutritious, chef-prepared meals from Miriam’s Kitchen’s culinary team
- Community programming and wellness activities that build connection and confidence
Each guest will receive personalized housing navigation and support services that honor their individuality and humanity.
For many experiencing chronic homelessness, traditional shelters are not a good fit.
Bridge Housing fills that gap — providing the stability, trust, and support people need to move from crisis to housing success.
This site represents DC’s fourth Bridge Housing program and demonstrates what’s possible when the city and community work together to create real solutions that prioritize housing, dignity, and care.
