Community Partners in the Dining Room
Please call (202) 452-8926 x 234 for assistance. Our case managers work one-on-one with guests each day. We also partner with many organizations that bring their services to Miriam’s Kitchen to streamline the delivery of essential services in one location – at Miriam’s Kitchen. This approach not only makes things easier on our guests, but it helps make D.C.’s homeless services more efficient by reducing duplicate efforts.

Our Social Services Philosophy
What do social services mean at Miriam’s Kitchen?
It's at your pace!
Choice is an essential component of our social services. We don’t force services upon our guests. While we may suggest services that we think would be beneficial, our guests are free to choose when and how they receive support from us. This approach works because it is rooted in trust. Our guests choose their goals, and we help them achieve them.
Why are social services so important?
The tools you need!
Our Social Services Program provides our guests with the services they need to survive while homeless. But it also gives us insight into what works best to help get people off the streets.
With that insight, we’re not only in the best position to help our guests transition from a life on the streets to a new life in housing, but we’re also in the position to lead a charge to end chronic homelessness in Washington, D.C.
How can you help?
Join us for a day!
The best way to understand the power of social services is to volunteer with our case managers, whether for an hour or for a monthly shift. We’d love for you to join us to experience our work firsthand.
